HER name may have the ring of heavenly virtue, but Faith Hope Consolo’s stock in trade is earthly luxury. Ms. Consolo is the chairwoman for retail real estate at Prudential Douglas Elliman, and the city’s highest-profile practitioner of the art of matching stores with storefronts. In Manhattan, where she does about 75 percent of her work, Ms. Consolo made her name by bringing luxury retailers to the city, often from abroad. Over the last two decades, she has helped turn the Flatiron district into a shopping area, bringing Ann Taylor, Sephora, Paul Smith and Zara, among others, to the neighborhood. She was a consultant to the New York State Economic Development Corporation in devising retail plans for Times Square, and represented the landlord in Toys “R” Us’s lease on its 100,000-square-foot store on Broadway near 44th Street.
